The Infectious Diseases Research Centre (IDRC) is a university research center recognized by Université Laval and whose primary mission is the training of new fundamentalist and clinical researchers who are passionate about the study of infectious diseases. The IDRC’s research interests cover a wide range of aspects concerning infectious diseases of viral, bacterial, fungal or parasitic origin. We are also very active in the field of human and environmental microbiomes. We use holistic approaches to basic, applied and clinical research and are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and biocontainment facilities such as NC-2 (aerobic, anaerobic); NC-3 (HIV) and NC-3 (respiratory) rooms allowing us to work with a wide variety of microorganisms and pathogens.
