This year, three new Universit\u00e9 Laval researchers have agreed to join the IDRC as regular members. \n<\/p>\n\n
Dr. Am\u00e9lie Fradet-Turcotte<\/strong>, a specialist in the molecular mechanisms of virus-driven genomic instability, is particularly interested in human papillomavirus infection and its role in the development of cervical cancers. Using cell and molecular biology techniques, she seeks to understand protein-protein interactions, signaling pathways and genetic damage specific to HPV-related carcinogenesis.<\/p>\n\n Dr. Ismail Fliss<\/strong> is a professor in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. His research interests include the antimicrobial action of select probiotic bacterial cultures and their role and potential in preventing and resisting infections. He also studies the pathogenic aspect of certain components of the microbiome.<\/p>\n\n Dr. Julie Jean<\/strong> is also a professor in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. She specializes in food virology and other pathogens affecting food safety. Her research focuses on characterizing the mode of action of these organisms and developing methods for their inactivation.<\/p>\n\n We are very pleased to have them with us.
