L’équipe de la professeure Caroline Duchaine en collaboration avec le Centre de recherche en infectiologie et le Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec-Université Laval vous invitent à la conférence de Benjamin Anderson, le mardi 1er avril à 13h30 à l’amphithéâtre Fisher (local T-054) au CHU de Québec (2705 boulevard Laurier, Québec).

Le séminaire est intitulé  “Emerging Infectious Diseases: Using New Tools to Address “Wicked” Health Problems”.

Benjamin Anderson, MPH, PhD, CPH

Dr. Benjamin Anderson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental and Global Health, College of Public Health and Health Professions and a member of the Emerging Pathogens Institute at the University of Florida. He also serves as the Director of the MHS One Health degree program. His research experience and expertise include emerging infectious diseases, zoonotic diseases, and viral respiratory pathogens using a One Health Approach. He is trained in serological and molecular diagnostic techniques up to BSL-3 enhanced environments and has worked extensively in multiple countries on epidemiology studies looking at infectious disease transmission and persistence among humans, animals, and their environments. His current work focuses on the optimization of bioaerosol and other novel sampling technologies for the detection of emerging viruses in infectious disease hot spots and among vulnerable populations with intense contact with animal reservoirs. In addition to his epidemiological research, Dr. Anderson has a strong passion for global health and scientific research capacity building. This includes the development of new collaborative international research networks and laboratory infrastructure.
